My own git log was a mess. “fix”, “wip”, “update stuff”, half written by me in a hurry, half by Claude Code which had zero reason to care. Every review season I’d end up digging through it trying to reconstruct what I actually did. That’s what pushed me to build this. It started as a formatter for my own commits, then grew once I realized agents needed the same fix for a different reason. A human skips a good message because they’re rushed. An agent skips it because it has no stake in ever being confused by its own commit later. So quietcommit enforces structure for agents automatically, and stays out of the way for humans who already write decent messages. Open source and still early. Would love feedback, especially from anyone using Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot daily.
