Hi Product Hunt 🤠 This web tool lets you design your next DataBase with an easy two views panels. I don't find it here on PH, so I post it. - Easy to use - Really fast - Many share features - Free šŸ––

Hi @bryan_dartout, thanks for speading the word about QuickDBD. As the maker of QuickDBD, I've been preparing to post it here myself. I've been making animated gifs etc. as recommended by PH https://blog.producthunt.com/how.... Is there any way you can make me an editor of this post, or even take it down while I finish getting ready? I'd like to make the best first impresion that I can. Thanks.

Hi @trevorjobling, I'm sorry about that, I ask PH to delete it now.
Trevor Jobling
@bryan_dartout No problem! I found that I can edit it. Thanks very much for thinking to add me as the maker. Let's just leave it here now. I put up the video and added some text and it will do. You're helping me move things along! :D I'm glad you find it useful, and liked it enough to hunt it. That's a compliment on its own!

How many tables can it handle? Can you set up views? For example. let's say a db has 300 tables and one module uses 30 tables can we have module specific views.

Hi PH, Trevor from QuickDBD here. Our team works in a custom software house so we design a lot of databases. We love rapid design tools such as Balsamiq Mockups, but were frustrated there was no equivalent for databases... so we made one! We followed the following principles: * We want a tool that is lightweight, quick, and doesn't get in the way. * We prefer using the keyboard to the mouse. * Don't force the design to be valid at all times - it shouldn't matter. Syntax checking during high level design just slows things down. * We want to use one tool regardless of the target database system. * It should be easy to share and collaborate on database designs. * The diagrams should look good enough to go straight into proposals, specs or other docs. Features include: - Quick, easy, flexible database design using the keyboard - Export images to PNG - Export database creation SQL - Export documentation / specification to RTF It's currently free but we intend to release premium plans to fund further development. @bryan_dartout hunted us before we were really ready, but I guess we're here now! Please ask any questions you have! Trevor
