Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Andres, and I made Questa.
The idea for Questa came from an unexpected YouTube moment.
I had just started getting into homelab projects and was watching a series on how to set up Proxmox on my brand-new mini PC so I could run services like Jellyfin, Immich, and a few others.
While watching the third video, something caught my eye. Right as the creator said, "...you can simply click the like button on the video...", the Like button magically lit up with a smooth border animation that immediately grabbed my attention.
I was so blown away that I actually called my girlfriend over just to show her. She didn't really care 😅, but it didn't matter. I had just witnessed such a simple yet powerful interaction, and I couldn't stop thinking about it.
That's when the idea for Questa was born.
I didn't start building it right away. I wrote the idea down, finished the Proxmox series, got my homelab running, and a couple of weeks later decided to give it a shot. I grabbed my laptop, got started on the first iteration, and here I am today, launching the very first version of Questa.
Questa lets creators add interactive moments to their videos that capture attention at the right time and naturally encourage viewers to engage, subscribe, or take action—without disrupting the viewing experience.
I'd genuinely love your feedback, ideas, or even criticism. This is just version one, and I'm excited to keep improving it with your help.
Thank you so much for reading ❤️
Plugged it into a recorded product demo and it actually picked the checkout step at the right moment, which is harder than it sounds. The fact that it just triggers without bouncing the viewer to a new tab feels like the right call.
@abantakanancyy Thanks for the support and for stopping by! Nailing that trigger was definitely a fun challenge to solve. Let me know if you run into any questions or need a hand once you dive deeper into the dashboard and set up your account, cheers!
honestly the concept is pretty slick but it would be cool if you could set custom triggers based on viewer behavior, like if someone pauses or rewinds then it could pop up a relevant CTA or support doc right at that moment. would make the whole thing feel way more responsive to what people are actually struggling with while watching.
@hacer358337 Hey, thank you for your comment! Yeah that's actually brilliant, I wanted to keep the first version very simple but I'm working on a few different features it can benefit from, definitely adding your thoughts to my roadmap!
Finally something that doesn't slam a popup in my face mid-sentence. Set it up on a demo recording and it pulled the perfect signup prompt right at the value moment. Curious how it handles longer webinars though.
@hikmetbyksi8xz Glad to hear that. Yes, it handles longer webinars and full-length videos without a hitch, the processing scales naturally regardless of duration. If you ever test it out on a long webinar, I’d love to hear how it goes for you!
It would be really helpful if Questa let me preview the suggested video moments side-by-side with the website action they trigger, so I can tweak the timing before publishing.
@cemileulus4tsh Yup! You actually read my mind. I experienced the exact same thing last night while recording the demos haha. I feel like having to jump between steps to adjust timing and website actions is definitely a friction point right now. I'm actually redesigning that flow to bring the detected moments and site triggers into a single side-by-side view. Thanks for confirming this is needed!
the way it picks moments without forcing a pause or popup feels really thoughtful, like you actually thought about how jarring those interruptions usually are
@havalrhw Thank you! Really glad you like the approach.
