Every app blocker wants an account — which means uploading a list of the apps you're trying to use less. Quell has no account, no backend, no analytics. It runs on-device via Apple's Screen Time API, so that list never leaves your iPhone — there's no server to send it to. Block apps, sites and categories. Schedules, daily limits, strict mode you can't switch off mid-block. Custom block screen, home-screen widget, streaks, 18 badges, 7 languages.
1.1.1 just went live, so a fresh install gets all of this:
• Added a one-time Premium unlock alongside subscriptions. A lot of people asked for it, and they were right.
• Quill now appears on the Stats screen, is larger throughout the app, and has a rebuilt idle animation with occasional one-off movements instead of a predictable loop.
• The widget now uses the same pose logic as the home screen.
• iPad: Settings and the rule editor now properly fill the sheet.
• Subscription attempts while offline now fail immediately, with the error shown in the app’s language instead of the device’s.
the no-account thing is genuinely smart, like you basically sidestepped the entire reason most people distrust app blockers in the first place. running straight through Screen Time is a clean call too
@hakanaknto2q Thanks! That was exactly the goal. We wanted it to feel as private and lightweight as possible—no accounts, no data collection, just using Apple’s Screen Time framework to help people stay focused. Really appreciate you noticing those design choices.
