Queer Design Club Designer Directory: An online directory of and community for LGBTQ+ Designers

Queer Design Club celebrates LGBTQ+ voices in design. Our directory features queer-identified designers searchable by location and skills. Members can join our Slack community where they can ask advice, receive feedback, and connect with other queer designers.

Hi Product Hunters! I'm really excited to share Queer Design Club, which I've built with co-founder @rebeccabrooker. In the tradition of Blacks…, Latinxs…, and Women Who Design, we've built an online directory of LGBTQ+ design talent searchable by field and location. We also run a Slack community where designers can connect with each other, ask for feedback on their work, get professional advice, post jobs, and chat. As we continue to grow, we'll use our social media and newsletter to highlight members doing inspiring work. We also plan on making the directory more robust, increasing discoverability and giving designers in-depth profile pages. Our goal is to build a community for highlighting and supporting queer designers. We also believe a more diverse design industry is a better design industry. So we hope folks use our directory to find their next design hire, writer, or conference speaker. You can submit your work to the directory or request an invite to our Slack at queerdesign.club. Looking forward to seeing this community and resource grow!

The admins are working really hard on a list of improvements and enhancements. John and Becks seem to have a well thought out and adaptable game plan for how this directory and community will grow. They're super receptive to feedback, and have been wicked thoughtful and considerate in creating QDC while allowing it to grow and change as the community needs it to.

Pros:

QDC gives professional visibility and validation to people who don't often get it.

Cons:

If you can't or don't use Slack, you miss out on a really neat part of Queer Design Club.
