I'm Clayton, the founder of Qaptura, and I'm beyond excited (and a little nervous!) to share this project with you.

The idea for Qaptura came from a very personal (and stressful!) place: my own wedding. Like any engaged couple, my wife Melanie and I were terrified of one thing: knowing that hundreds of amazing, candid, and hilarious photos would be taken by our friends and family, only to be trapped on their phones, lost forever in 100 different group chats.

I didn't want to spend the week after my wedding begging guests to "please send me those photos."

I wanted a way to get every photo, from every angle, without making our guests download a new app they'd just delete the next day. The solution had to be simple. It had to be something everyone already knew how to use.

So, I built Qaptura: a shared event album that works 100% through WhatsApp.

How It Works

It’s as simple as it sounds:

📱 Scan: Guests scan a QR code at the event.
💬 Chat: It instantly opens a private WhatsApp chat for the event.
📸 Share: They send their photos and videos to the chat, just like they would to a friend.
✨ See: Instantly, those moments appear in a beautiful, live gallery for everyone to see.

The real magic for us was two-fold:

For me (the host): We didn't have to chase anyone. All our memories were in one place before the night was even over.
For our guests: They loved it because they could see the party from everyone else's perspective, all in real-time.

It worked so well for our wedding that I knew I had to turn it into a real tool for others.
