Draw a dog. That's it. Somehow, you can't. Purupaint is a drawing app that actively works against you. Your lines shake. They overshoot. They arrive a little late. The harder you try to draw straight, the worse it gets. There is no eraser. You get one undo. Whatever comes out, you keep. ■ A new prompt every day ■ Share the wreckage ■ Good for - Killing five minutes - Drawing without caring how bad you are - Making someone laugh
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I made a drawing app that gets in your way on purpose.
When you move your finger, the line shakes, overshoots, and arrives a
little late. The harder you try to draw straight, the worse it gets.
There's no eraser, and undo only takes back your last stroke — so you
can't quietly clean things up as you go.
The idea came from a simple thing: a badly drawn picture is funny, but
it's also a bit embarrassing, because it's your fault. If the app is
what's ruining it, that goes away. Good artists and bad artists fail
the same way here.
Every day there's one prompt, the same one for everyone in the world.
Dog, cat, house, bicycle. Same subject, wildly different disasters.
You can export the whole drawing as a video and share it.
The hardest part was tuning the distortion. Too weak and it just feels
like hand tremor. Too strong and you can't tell what you were even
drawing, which is frustrating rather than funny. Finding the line where
it falls apart but stays *barely* recognizable took most of the time.
I built this solo. Would love to know what you tried to draw and how
badly it went — feel free to post your results.
