Route planning for people who travel with cats

Most navigation apps optimize for speed. They do not optimize for traveling with cats. PurrPilot is an iOS route-planning app built for cat parents who travel by road. It focuses on calmer, safer, and more predictable journeys instead of just the fastest route. The app uses Apple Maps by default, with an option to switch to Google Maps based on user preference. It is intentionally simple and grounded in real trips taken with cats, not generic travel assumptions.

Hi, I’m Shahin, the maker of PurrPilot. I built this as a cat parent who regularly travels long distances with my cats. Most navigation tools optimize for speed, but that misses what road trips with cats actually require, especially when familiar, low-stress stop points disappear along the way. PurrPilot helps plan routes with cat-friendly stops in mind, focusing on predictability and comfort rather than just shortest time. It’s intentionally focused and iOS-only to stay simple and native. I’m sharing this to get feedback from other cat parents who travel by road. I’d love input on what makes a route feel “cat-friendly” in practice and which decisions you want to plan ahead versus decide on the fly.
