Hola Product Hunt community! π
My name is Olive - I'm a web and brand designer with a history in social media management. Last February I decided to dive head-first into app development.
I've never developed anything other than websites using drag-and-drop builders, so what made me think I could build apps? Airtable did, the scoundrel! And the platform also got me addicted to app-building in the process. Can't stop won't stop πͺ
I know what you're thinking. When most people hear Airtable, they think of a boring Excel-style database, not an app-development platform. Yet here we are at my second Airtable app launch! It definitely won't be the last. Airtable is the future.
Punch π₯ Time Tracker is an Airtable app for tracking, scheduling, and blocking your time, so you can be more productive. I built it because I either work too many hours in a row and burn out, or don't manage to get enough done from struggling to maintain focus. Now, with just a couple clicks, my entire week is planned out. It's sorcery β¨
Here's a peek of what Punch can do:
π‘ Punch Cards: Don't think, just Punch! Getting to work can be hard enough, so tracking your time should be easy. All it takes is a single button press on any page to capture every minute.
π‘ Quick Scheduling: Taking a lot of time to plan your day is counter-productive. With powerful automations and custom scripts, Punch will plan your day, week, and month in seconds.
π‘ Time Blocking: Try out different productivity techniques, or design your own with π Workday Styles. Punch comes preloaded with nearly a dozen templates for your daily schedule that can be added to your calendar in a click.
π‘ Earnings & Project Tracking: Time is money! Figure out what projects are taking up the most time and what's raking in the most dough.
π‘ Prebuilt & Custom Templates: Triaging your time is hard work, but you don't have to do it alone. Punch comes jam-packed with almost 50 templates for Shifts, Time Blocks, and every style of workday.
Punch Time Tracker is designed for quick, easy, and efficient personal scheduling so you can be your most productive self.

Thanks so much for your support! π

Huge congrats on the launch, Olive! Punch looks fantastic π₯ Iβm super curious: how come you picked Airtable to focus on over eg Notion? Iβm a fan of both services but curious of how you think about the platforms as a maker π
@eliasstravik Thanks so much for your support, Elias! I know that so many people have tried to tackle the Airtable vs Notion debate, and while I dabbled in Notion, I never took to it like I did Airtable.
I initially only used Airtable as a database. With its integrations and extensions, I could connect to my CRM, to my iPhone and whatever else I needed, so it quickly became the home of my important data. Client information, purchases, that sort of thing.
But then Airtable launched Interfaces (their app designer) just a few years ago. At the time, I had been tinkering with Bubble and Appsheet, but there's something about the simplicity and power of Airtable's app designer that I couldn't stop building on. It became something of an addiction, and still is today.
I've come to think of Airtable as holding a different space in the market than Notion. I use it to build custom internal tools. For instance, in just one afternoon, I was able to put together an app to manage the various form submissions on my website. I could then quickly integrate it into my email marketing tool as well as connect it with my client CRM.
If there's a tool that I need to make the internal processes of my business processes more efficient, I can build it with Airtable. That's why I use it, and honestly, I have very little need for other tools π₯
I hope this answers your question! It's a doozy of a discussion π£
@olive_haus thanks so much for the reply! I definitely agree - I use Notion for my notes and task management but if I were to build internal integrations and automations, Iβd likely go for Airtable as well π
@eliasstravik I've heard that Notion can be quite useful for notes, but *wink wink nudge nudge* I hear this other Airtable app, Stuff to Do, is also great for task management π
Either way, I'm stoked to hear that others are seeing Airtable's power as an internal tool builder. I really think for anyone who doesn't have a long dev background, there's very few tools that offer the kind of accessibility and flexibility that Airtable does πͺ
@huashu Thanks so much for your support Hua! What a question π§
There's so many things I could mention. How much I learned about Airtable or about branding, about product development, and even about launching. It's hard to know where to start.
Probably the most significant thing I learned was designing my app with UX in mind, front-and-center. Because I tried to put myself in the shoes of the user first, I learned to flex Airtable in different ways with this app than in any other I've previously built. That perspective influenced every aspect of this app's design from button placement, to feature-set, to automations and scripting in the backend.
I actually rebuilt Punch from scratch after it was already feature-complete because I wanted users to be able to easily change time zones from a single screen. It ended up adding about two weeks of work, but it's ultimately taught me how to use Airtable in ways I never considered before.
There's plenty more I could say, but I'm especially proud of how I've built Punch. I even have an update planned that should be coming out in the next day or so to make it even more accessible and easy to use! Punch is my digital baby πΆπ₯ (this is not an endorsement to punch babies)

Congratulations Olive on a successful Launch. This is a great example of no-code app development. Awesome!!!
@sayanti_kundu Thanks so much Sayanti! Airtable made it especially easy to get into the no-code universe with their app designer (Airtable Interfaces), but it also has low-code capabilities which really sets it apart. Punch makes use of a couple custom scripts written by yours truly π but I never would have dabbled in code if not for Airtable!
Congrats on the launch, Olive β I'm sure you got this! π₯³
I really love your unique style of your designs. They always look clean and are easily recognizable. π
Well done and keep it up!
@marvr Thanks so much for your kind words, Marvin! Hearing that my designs are enjoyed and identifiable is the best compliment π Brand design is near and dear to me. I'll keep creating!
@igorkrasnik Thanks for your support, Igor! I'm super grateful to have you in my corner π€ It means so much that you consider my products authentic and useful - I try to only make things that address real pain points (often my own) so that others can also benefit from my solutions β¨
