ProxyBox Zero turns local USB and network devices into secure HTTPS API endpoints that web apps and AI agents can use. Need to print? Just POST to a single endpoint from your browser or backend. No local print drivers and no weird browser workarounds. Use it on your local network, or securely from anywhere. Your devices stay local and do not need to be exposed directly to the internet.
I built ProxyBox Zero because I kept running into the same annoying problem in client projects. The web app was easy. The local hardware was the hard part. Every time a browser or cloud app needed to talk to something else on the local network, the solution got messy fast.
ProxyBox started as my answer to that problem.
More recently I added MCP support, which made the idea a lot more interesting to me. Now the same box that connects web apps to local devices can also give AI agents controlled access to them.
I’m curious to see what people build with it.
