PromptShot — Screenshot to AI prompt Chrome extension for Cursor, ChatGPT & Claude PromptShot is a vibe coding and AI coding Chrome extension that lets you drag to capture any region of a web page, then copy an LLM-ready prompt and PNG image to your clipboard in one step—ready to paste into Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini. Skip long setup messages. For UI fixes, bug reports, design handoff, and component extraction, go capture → paste (Ctrl+V) → ship the next prompt.

Hi everyone! 👋
I'm excited to share PromptShot with the Product Hunt community.
The idea came from a frustration I ran into almost every day while using Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude. Whenever I wanted an AI to recreate or fix part of a webpage, the workflow was always the same: take a screenshot, save or paste it somewhere, then spend another minute writing the same prompt over and over again.
It felt like the screenshot wasn't the hard part—the repetitive prompting was.
So I built PromptShot to make that workflow almost effortless. You simply drag to capture any region of a webpage, and PromptShot copies both the screenshot and an AI-ready prompt to your clipboard. Paste into Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini, and you're ready to go.
While building it, I realized developers wanted more than screenshots. They wanted a complete AI coding workflow. That led to features like reusable prompt presets, annotation tools, capture history, and optional screen recording for bug reports and UI discussions—all while keeping everything local in the browser for privacy.
I'd love to hear how you use AI for coding today. If you try PromptShot, I'd really appreciate your feedback—whether it's about missing features, rough edges, or ideas for making AI workflows even faster.
Thanks for checking it out, and I'm looking forward to your thoughts! 🚀

✨ PromptShot v2.0.0 is here!
We just shipped a major performance upgrade focused on making screenshot capture feel much faster and smoother. 🚀
Here’s what changed:
1️⃣ Faster area capture We now take a snapshot when capture starts, so after you select a region we can crop directly instead of capturing the entire tab again.
2️⃣ Faster crop & zoom We reuse ImageBitmap to reduce unnecessary image decoding and make crop/zoom operations much more responsive.
3️⃣ Faster startup Tab capture and content script injection now happen in parallel, reducing the time before you can start capturing.
4️⃣ Stronger fallback handling If snapshot cropping fails for any reason, PromptShot automatically falls back to a fresh capture so the workflow can continue safely.
The goal is simple: capture → paste → build, with as little waiting as possible.
Thanks to everyone who tried PromptShot and shared feedback after launch. 🙌 If you tried the previous version, we'd love for you to give v2.0 another shot and let us know how it feels!
