ProjectQty combines 41 free construction material calculators with five browser-local project guides. Every calculator exposes its formula, editable assumptions, ordering rounds, worked examples, and scoped sources. It requires no account, keeps project data in the browser, and separates quantity math from supplier prices, delivery, labor, permits, and professional design.
Honestly this looks super useful for quick takeoffs. One thing that would help me out is letting me export a full material list as a PDF or CSV with the formulas and assumptions shown, so I can hand it off to a contractor or keep it for records without having to screenshot every single calculator. Would make the whole tool way more practical on real jobs.
Showing wastage percentages right inside each calculator with a simple toggle for different material types would save a lot of back-and-forth. Concrete and tile especially need that built into the assumptions rather than having to manually add a percentage.
Concrete and rebar calculators are solid but you could add a built-in waste factor percentage field (with a sensible default like 10 percent) right on each form so we don't have to manually add it after getting the base number. Would save a step on every take-off.
The fact that every calculator shows its formula and lets you tweak the assumptions is genuinely useful for sanity-checking estimates. Glad it stays in the browser too, no account nonsense.
