Hey Product Hunt 👋 ProEdit started from a frustration I kept running into: AI writing tools felt detached from real writing. Most tools live in chat boxes. You paste text in, get something back, then manually stitch it into your document. That breaks flow — and for long-form or academic writing, flow is everything. I wanted to explore a different idea: what if AI didn’t sit next to your document, but inside it? The goal wasn’t to build another paraphraser. It was to create an AI-native editor that understands structure, preserves formatting, and improves clarity without flattening nuance or voice. The hardest problems weren’t generating text — they were: • Preserving document structure during AI rewrites • Preventing tone from becoming generic • Handling longer documents without losing coherence • Keeping the interface minimal while still making AI powerful Throughout the build, the focus evolved from “what can AI do?” to “when does AI genuinely improve thinking?” That’s the line ProEdit is trying to walk.
