I learned at a young age that to get absorbed in anything you just need to start. The analogy was always painting. Just splash some color on the page and your mind will fill in the rest. I drew like this for years, but always ultimately sucked. Procreate has managed to capture the joy of that first hook but then gives you the superpowers to keep going and build something extraordinary. Ultimately, I started sharing my drawings with the vibrant community on Reddit and one of my drawings (that took 40 hours to make) went viral. So i went from a non-illustrator to someone people were loving. That was a magical feeling, this is a magical app.

Procreated has also influenced my career beyond drawing - let me be clear I should never be a career illustrator lol. I've taken some of the principals of Procreate and the iPad native experience and applied them to my own app Lore Machine. So the magic lives on in other products!

What needs improvement

I had to think about this and I think I've got the answer in the form of an idea. There are so many frustrating moments when you're getting going in the app, where you repeat a step a thousand times wanting it to work a certain ergonomic way, just jamming your pen into the screen and getting frustrating. It would be cool if there was a Microsoft Word Clippy for Procreate that could feel that repeition and increased pressure and suggested a way out of the futility loop.

vs Alternatives

Honestly, it just came recommended after I had bought the iPad. It's so ascendant, most people tell you not to use anything else.

Sometimes I get to use Procreate on my partner's ipad, and it's the most convenient drawing program in my memory. It seems that there are the most packs of different brushes on Procreate, it's very convenient to customize the canvas and, dammn, the best thing is to auto-save the canvas, even if the device suddenly runs out. Everything remains to the last line, ipad for charging - and keep going! So I'm saving up for my own device, so that I can also work comfortably at any time.

One of the best graph editors for apple, it literally sold me on my ipad and stylus back in the day. :з I think only the compressed jpeg issue is frustrating, but that's a minor thing compared to the ability to simply and easily draw without forcing and overcomplicated features. (nevertheless they are quite deep if you go deeper).

Absolute powerful for creative workers. I tested several tools (Krita, Inkscape, etc) on Microsoft systems. As well as tools on android pads. But to be honest. This tool is near to perfect. Very intuitive. I can really recommend it for creative workers. Ipad12“+pen+procreate = a lot of fun
