We built ProBlocker because most free ad blockers make money by letting some ads through (Acceptable Ads) or by collecting your browsing data. ProBlocker does neither. It blocks video ads, banners, pop-ups, and trackers on YouTube and every other site, canceling requests at the network level before they load. Built natively for Manifest V3, so it works on current Chrome. No account, no paid tier, no whitelist.

Chrome moved to Manifest V3, and uBlock Origin got pulled from the Chrome Web Store entirely. Most of what's left either runs an Acceptable Ads program (AdBlock and Adblock Plus both let certain ads through by default unless you dig into settings) or pays its bills by collecting your browsing data somewhere. We couldn't find an option that did neither, so we built one. ProBlocker has no whitelist and no telemetry. It's built for Manifest V3 from scratch using declarativeNetRequest, not an old extension patched to survive the transition. It cancels ad requests at the network level, on YouTube and everywhere else, before they load rather than hiding them after the fact. No paid tier, no account required. Happy to answer anything about how the blocking works, what MV3 does and doesn't allow compared to the old API, or why we made specific tradeoffs. Also curious what breaks it for people, since YouTube in particular keeps changing things up.
