Hi Product Hunt, I'm Habib, the maker of Private PDF.
Private PDF brings everyday document jobs together around one principle: normal PDF processing happens on your device. Merge, split, edit, fill forms, add a visual signature, or compress a file, then review and save a copy.
You can use it in five places:
• Web: free PDF tools at https://dayfiles.com/ — no product account required.
• Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dayfiles.pdfprocessor
• iPhone and iPad: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/private-pdf-scan-merge-edit/id6809184465
• Mac: the iPad app on Apple M1 or later, with macOS 12 or later. Apple's listing says it is not verified for macOS.
• ChatGPT: https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ace85374cac8191bbeded0794fa16a0
The ChatGPT integration uses MCP to open Edit, Split and Merge workspaces. Select files inside the workspace; chat attachments are not processed automatically. The MCP server does not receive your documents. If your host cannot display the workspace or save an export, use the standalone browser workspace. Documents you separately share in chat follow the host's own data practices.
The web tools and MCP workspaces are free. Native apps include free core tools and optional monthly or lifetime Premium. Native scanning includes five completed scans per calendar month per device, up to 20 pages each; Premium allows unlimited scans, up to 50 pages each. The native scanner includes crop, rotation, page ordering and PDF export.
Offline use depends on required resources being ready. Purchases, update checks and optional analytics can use the internet; document contents and filenames are excluded from analytics. Compression depends on the file, OCR needs review, and signatures are visual rather than digital certificates.
