Before Astra, Prism could apply themes and custom backgrounds, but every new tester still had to find an image and configure it before seeing the product work. Astra made it practical to ship the full first-run experience in one coordinated update: audit the existing beta and privacy boundaries, add built-in Beach and Forest samples with local-only image handling and credits, add a focused regression check, rebuild and verify the portable Windows package, and prepare the launch assets. The result is Prism 0.14.12: a tester can now open the app, choose a sample, tune fading per pane, and apply it without leaving Prism. Prism existed before the challenge; Astra enabled this launch-ready update.

I built Prism because I spend a lot of time in Codex and wanted the workspace to feel calmer and more personal. For the Astra Challenge, GPT-6 Astra helped me audit the existing beta, add the included Beach and Forest samples, test and package version 0.14.12, and prepare the launch video and listing. Prism existed before the challenge; Astra helped me ship this update. Prism is free and open source. It changes local Codex appearance settings and keeps backgrounds on your computer. The current Windows build is still a beta, so please save important work before trying it. I would love feedback on the setup flow, themes, and which backgrounds you want next.
