Thanks for actually kicking the tyres — that's exactly the test I hoped people would run. The badge only fires when today's price is below the median of every price we've recorded for that product ourselves, so it stays quiet on most "sales" by design. If you ever catch it looking wrong on a specific product, tell me which one — that's the most useful bug report I can get.

The kettle is exactly the use case 😄 The median check exists because the "was" price on a lot of Australian listings is an RRP the product never actually traded at — so "40% off" can be the everyday price. Comparing against what we've genuinely observed it selling for is the only honest baseline I could think of. And yep, CCC/Keepa stopping at Amazon is the whole reason this exists — in Australia most shopping happens everywhere else.
