Hey Product Hunt! I’m Tony, co-founder and CEO of The Influence Company, the team behind Prelulu.
What if you could step into a story, and its characters could talk back?
We’re building Prelulu to make AI video stories feel less like something you watch and more like something you’re part of. You meet a character, build a story through conversation, and come face-to-face through live video.
A late-night confession. A first encounter with someone you shouldn’t trust. A romance where you decide what to say next.
We started with interactive AI stories and kept coming back to one thing: the characters are what make you want to stay. Not just what happens next, but who it happens with. That became the heart of Prelulu: stories built around characters you can actually talk to.
You can discover characters, create your own, roleplay over chat, and take the conversation into a real-time video call. Rather than choosing from a few scripted options, you bring your own words.
Today, the experience starts with a conversation. Our bigger ambition at The Influence Company is to make video stories you can live inside, not just watch.
Try a video call, and tell us: what kind of story would you want to step into first?
Switching from text into a video scene is an interesting part of this. I'd want the character to pick up the same conversation, without having to explain the story again.
@oleksii_sekundant Thanks, Oleksii! Great point! We're already working on better context sharing across different modalities to make the experience feel more seamless and natural!
Quick question: can I create the story by myself?
@jackinlearning96 Yes you can!! Try creating the story with the character, and we have more modes coming up!
@jackinlearning96 Absolutely, Jack! Here’s our latest story experiment. Would love for you to check it out! https://x.com/preluluofficial/status/2117563133120176449
How much can the story actually change based on the way I talk to the character?
Congrats @tonyabracadabra & team!
Thanks for sharing @chrismessina :)
@chrismessina @hamza_afzal_butt Thanks so much, Hamza! 🙌
Quite a lot, actually, especially in video calls. During a call, the avatar steers the storyline through tool calls. As you talk, it decides when to move the plot forward, change direction, or react, based on what you say. So two people who start the same story can end up somewhere completely different.
We're also building more advanced (and cheaper) models that make this much more dynamic. One early demo is our recent work with @hynomas on HY-NoMaS, Hunyuan's interactive world-generation model. It lets you step inside a microdrama and steer the video itself through text instructions and camera controls, so you can explore the "what if": https://x.com/preluluofficial/status/2117563133120176449
Jump into a video call and push the character somewhere unexpected. I'd love to hear how far you can take it!
@chrismessina @hynomas @tonyabracadabra
Thats actually a lot more dynamic than I expected. The idea that two people can start from the same point and end up with completely different outcomes is really interesting...
@chrismessina @hamza_afzal_butt Thank you Chris for hunting us! And thank you Hamza!!
The video calls are what made me click. Can I try one without turning my camera on?
@alicia_verrando Yes Alicia! You can try a call with your camera off 😊 If you choose to turn it on, the character can see your reactions and respond to them. Totally up to you!
Hey everyone! We’re exploring more playful content that brings your characters to life, like having them react when you tap them, or playing a quick mini-game together.
These are still early ideas, and I’d love to hear what sounds fun to you. Which would you try first, or is there another interaction you wish you could have with your character?👂👂👂
@undefinable Already checked out the internal demos! Looks super cool! Anyone else want to pat-pat your characters and see how they react? 👀 +1
Working on the voice stuff for Prelulu right now. One thing I really want to build next is a late-night ASMR mode. Basically your favorite character whispering bedtime stories or just chatting softly over rain sounds, without breaking character. Would anyone actually use this to fall asleep, or is that just me?
@asashiki Love this idea! +1 Anyone else?
