About Vitri Browsing the web comes with many possible harmful activities. Sometimes you think you are in a legit website when actually you are in a scam copy of a legit website, you can be at an ecommerce store that is not real and has fake 5 star reviews, you can be at a news website with false information and many more bad situations… What all of these websites have in common is the ability to isolate themselves of feedback from real users. This makes the scam possible, because everyone can get to the website but no one can share their personal experience with that website. Even if there is information about this website it is very hard to find. What Vitri wants to accomplish is to give the user a different browsing experience, transforming every single website that exists into a community, just like what it would be a subreddit, where people can post things related to that website. Vitri also makes it very easy to find this information. The way you find the website's community on Vitri is very simple. Just clicking on our chrome extension popup, you will be prompted with recent posts for that website. Right now you can comment on posts, upvote posts and check the users posts so you can have more transparency about the user who is posting and commenting. This opens a world of opportunities to users. Consider that you are at your college's website trying to print a document of some sort, but you can't figure it out where you should go to do that. In this case you can pop open Vitri extension and see if anyone had that problem already or even ask it yourself. No website is too small for Vitri, if there is no posts on the website community Vitri will tell you, but you can always be the first to post, and basically this way, to create that community. About me I'm Leo, a software developer from Brazil. Vitri has been my passion project for years now and the idea of this app came back in 2016. I was online shopping and I have bought some shoes online, the company looked very legit and had many great reviews of "users" telling their amazing story with that store. The problem is that it was all fake. The website owner painted this narrative of it being a good reputable brand, but it was all fake and I couldn't even leave a review about that warning future customers. It was at that moment when I wished there was a third party tool that helped me expose this website but also being available every time someone landed on that page, so people can enter the website, have some feedback that it is not legit and move on with their browsing. So I couldn't explicitly tell users within that website because I don't own that website, making it is not possible for me to inject some type of app inside the website. That's when I had the idea of creating a chrome extensions, because they are always available no matter where in the web. While I was developing this extension the use cases for this skyrocketed. Well what if I can share my bad experience trying to print something on this website? What if I can share that the website is down? What if I can share that this flat earth website can't be trusted as a news information website and actually link some reference...
