Hey Product Hunters! 👋
We used to manage our database backups through custom scripts and cron jobs.
As this became difficult to maintain at scale, we built Portabase, an open-source and self-hosted platform that centralizes the backup and restoration of databases and Docker volumes. It now supports 9 database engines, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, and SQL Server.
With its agent-based architecture, you can manage multiple environments from a single dashboard while keeping agents close to your data. Portabase provides automated schedules, flexible retention policies, remote storage, notifications, health checks, restores, and database migrations.
Our goal is to give teams a transparent and reliable way to protect critical data—without vendor lock-in.
Portabase is already backed by a growing open-source community, and we’re actively improving it based on real-world feedback.
We’d love to hear how you currently manage your backups, which challenges you face, and what features you’d like to see next.
Thanks for checking out Portabase! 🚀
