PorkChop was inspired by my grandfather Fred, who brought traditional Italian cooking techniques when he immigrated. He patiently taught me to cook, passing down generations of culinary wisdom. As a butcher, I saw these teaching moments and techniques vanishing from modern kitchens. I created this app to preserve his legacy of education and support the small, hyperlocal markets he cherished. Chef Freddie, named in his honor, guides users through every step—teaching techniques, suggesting ingredients, and connecting families with local vendors. It's not just about recipes; it's about continuing my grandfather's tradition of teaching others to cook with what they have.
