Hi Product Hunt, I'm Nathan.
I built Plyko alone, in France, over the last six months. It went live on the App Store and Google Play on October 25.
The problem was small and daily: I lifted with one app and ate with another, and neither knew about the other. My training log had no idea I was cutting, my food diary had no idea I had just squatted. So I built the one app I wanted, with one history for both.
Free, forever, with no ads:
812 exercises, every one illustrated, with form cues in six languages
sets, reps, RPE, warm-ups, drop sets, supersets and circuits, records spotted on every set, 15 classic programs (5/3/1, nSuns, GZCLP, StrongLifts...)
a keypad built for the gym, plate math, the rest timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, an Apple Watch app
7,470 foods that work offline, a barcode scanner, 150 recipes whose macros are summed from laboratory tables
water, sleep, steps, fasting, body measurements, Apple Health and Health Connect
friends, strength ranks, 97 achievements, a weekly review and a monthly recap
Pro adds micronutrients and ten AI features: a plate scan, a label scan, a meal logged by voice, a fridge scan that suggests recipes, recipe import from a link, meal plans, a coach that writes a session from your actual lifts, multi-week plans and a Sunday review.
The part I care about most: the plate scan and the voice log never let the model invent a number. The model picks the food from a list of 1,220 and estimates the grams; the calories and macros come from Ciqual and USDA laboratory values.
Pro is €8.99 a month or €79.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial, and every quota is shown in the app with a live counter. Until November 8, the first year is €49.99.
Three choices I'd defend:
Local first. Your data lives on your phone and syncs to servers in Paris when you sign in. You can delete your account from inside the app.
No ads, no ad trackers, nothing sold. The subscription is the business model.
Before anything goes to the AI, the app asks, names the provider (Anthropic) and says what each feature sends.
I'm here all day. Tell me what would make you switch from the apps you use now: the gym keypad, the cable attachments and the machine settings all came from someone telling me one exact screen was annoying.
