I hate long shows. Too much filler, too much small talk. But I still want the story.
So I built Plot Only, an agent that watches Netflix with you and skips everything that isn’t plot: recaps, title sequences, small talk, side plots.
How to use it (under a minute):
1️⃣ Install: click “Add to Chrome” on the Web Store page (link below). No account, no setup.
2️⃣ Pin it (optional): click the puzzle icon in Chrome’s toolbar and pin Plot Only, so the on/off switch is one click away.
3️⃣ Play anything on Netflix: a small “Plot only” badge appears at the top right of the player.
4️⃣ Let it work: the first time anyone plays a title, it takes about a minute to read it. Then the badge shows something like “49m → 40m”, and filler gets skipped automatically as you watch.
5️⃣ See what it cut: click the badge to see every scene, what’s kept, what’s skipped and why. Click any skipped scene to watch it anyway.
On the shows I tested it on, you watch 4 episodes in the time of 3. That’s 7+ hours back on a 30-hour show.
Honest limits:
desktop Chrome (and Chromium browsers) only,
Netflix only for now, and
the first viewer of a new title waits about a minute while it’s analyzed. After that it’s instant for everyone.
