Playpie

Hey hunters, My name is Darlington and I’m cofounder of Playpie, a premium marketplace for artists to sell royalty-yielding music NFTs “pies” to their loyal fans. NFTs can be anything like art, music, virtual lands or even web domains. It could be as minute as an internet meme or as gigantic as a whole city (yes, but maybe a little too far). More particularly, a music NFT would typically be a unique edition of a song or album that only a limited number of people can own at a time. See it as an autographed copy of an album CD but in 2022. Cool, right? Now it gets more interesting when we bring pies to the conversation. Pies are music NFTs that not only hold a limited version of a song but also entitle its owners to a share of streaming royalties on that song. A pie allows its current holder to receive a payout of royalty earnings at the same time the artist gets paid. These payouts can be redeemed immediately by the current owner of that pie or retained in which case payouts will continue to accrue until redeemed. Pies can be sold or transferred in the secondary market at a price determined by the seller and agreed on by the buyer. When a pie is sold or transferred in this case, all unredeemed payouts plus rights to future payouts will be expressly transferred to the new owner. For every pie collection, there are different editions each with its unique level of scarcity as well as the percentage of royalties that’s embedded in it. Playpie currently supports only three editions namely Silver, Gold and Diamond.
