Keep track all your plant babies with the Plant Parenthood app. - Never forget when you last watered - Admire how much your plant babies have grown - Share plant updates with your friends - Ask for help from the global plant family!
Hi there, fellow plant parents 🌱
Dennis & Inga here - we're product people who are also proud parents of our houseplants. We created this app to help you care for your plant babies with ease, while also having fun and the support of a global plant community along the way!
Before this, I kept track of my plants' watering schedules on post-its and in my head. As I grew my plant family to over 20, this became untenable. I didn't want to be an *irresponsible* parent and forget to water them. I also spent forever digging through my Camera Roll searching for baby pics of Penny the pilea or Leonard the pothos so I could show my friends how much they've grown. There had to be a better way.
✨ Introducing Plant Parenthood! ✨
- Keep track of all of your plant babies 📒
- Never forget the last time you watered or fertilized your plants ⏰
- Take notes in each plant's activity log: saw a new leaf? found some dead leaves? pests? 📝
- Admire how much each plant has grown over time with our Photo Gallery! Never dig through your phone again searching for baby pictures of your pride & joy 🐣
- Share plant updates and milestones with your friends 🗣
- Ask for help from the global plant family! 🆘

@ingachen@smallder Planned Parenthood is actually about female reproductive care and provides many people with essential health care services that they can't access elsewhere. But good to know where you stand on a woman's right to choose.

@ingachen@smallder@theblinkdate "not sure why you pulled out the women card…it has nothing to do with women" says the guy who’s definitely been pregnant before. No one here wanted to hear your moronic opinions anyway, but a statement that insanely oblivious is only welcome on incel forums. Go away.
@bnjmnlbr Hey Benjamin! The telegram group link should work - I just tried it. Let me know if it still doesn't work for you! I can also add you manually if you email me at inga.h.chen [at] gmail.
Re: Testflight, you'll need the testflight app downloaded first (from the App Store) and then click on this link from your iPhone: https://testflight.apple.com/joi...

@smallder@theblinkdate Seriously has anyone indicated they want to hear why your asinine feelings should prevent millions of women (that you have nothing to do with) from making decisions about *their* lives, and uninsured women from accessing birth control and healthcare, ON A PRODUCT HUNT POST ABOUT A PLANT APP?
@producthunt - good time to add a block feature or downvoting to bury weird trolls

Love the name! What a timely product. Reminds me of this video I watched the other day on why plants are good for you:
Ummm...so I recently came back home from a weekend away. Before I left, I watered my palm plant for the first time since buying it thinking, "Oh wow, you're such a good plant parent, Melissa, it's going to be so happy!" ONLY TO COME BACK HOME TO ONE OF THE PALMS BEING BRIGHT YELLOW. (!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?).
Needless to say, I need this app because I have no idea what I'm doing. My house is currently where plants go to die and I'd like to change that. Excited to try this app!
One note: I figured out TestFlight, but I originally did what I always do when downloading a new app - I went straight to the App Store and typed the name in. Obviously, the first thing that came up was "Planned Parenthood." I'm sure the app was intended to be a play on words, but do you foresee any issues with people being confused / it being hard to find in the app store once you launch formally?

I live in a shared house and we have a few plants that aren't doing too well due to overzealous watering. It's be great to have a shared tab / 'house' where everyone knows the last time a plant was watered! I'm also on android, will have a play around when you launch! :)
Hello Product Hunt! I'm one of the makers responsible for Plant Parenthood! This project was born out of my own personal desire to keep track of all of my lovely plants that I'm trying to care for — and to connect with others around the world that are fellow plant parents. Please contact us with any questions, suggestions or comments! We would love to hear from you!

What a creative idea! I'm ready to become a plant dad haha 🧔🌱
I've added some UI/UX feedback over the screens if it helps :) Congratulations launching on Product Hunt!
This is great ! @ingachen I have some suggestions :
- Daily Water reminders (through local notifications) would be wonderful to have.
- 'Add a Plant' can be presented as modal view instead of push view in Nav bar.
- Allow users to subscribe to plant types than showing all feeds !
- Have some option like whether the plant is kept indoor or outdoor. If possible, Pull user location, if it rains update the last watered time for outdoor plants.
- Plant leave or flower emoji like button in each post would be nice
- Plant profile : Where users can see images of all users plants grouped under common plant name
