Pixel kit

A modern, web-based design editor built for learning

PixelKit is an open-source, editor inspired by tools like Figma. It allows users to create and edit visual designs directly in the browser, working with shapes, text, images, and pages on a canvas. This project is being developed in public as an open-source initiative. Its purpose is to explore how a design editor can be built on the web, share the implementation openly, and allow others to learn from, use, or extend it.

PixelKit is an open-source web design editor.

I am opening this project to the public to share the work, make the code accessible, and allow others to explore, use, or contribute to the editor. The focus is on building a functional design tool that runs in the browser, with features like a canvas, shapes, text, images, pages, and basic editing interactions.

The project is under active development, and the codebase may evolve as new features are added or existing ones are refined. Feedback, issues, and contributions are welcome as the editor continues to grow in the open.
