1,000,000 pixels. $1 each. Paint one, or steal someone else's for the same $1. No accounts, no rules, no moderation beyond color. Draw first, pay after, like a real drawing tool, not a selection form. Import a logo to auto-fill a shape instead of painting by hand. Every purchase hits the live activity feed, and top landowners climb the Ladder. The canvas never sleeps. Always contested, always changing. Come stake your claim, just don't get attached.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Pixel Buy because I wanted to see what happens when r/place has a real economy attached to it. Every pixel costs $1. Anyone can buy blank ones, and anyone can repaint pixels someone else already bought, same price, no protection, no escalation. It's basically a dollar auction played out visually across a million squares.
A few things I'm proud of:
No accounts, no friction, paint, pay, done. Card on file makes repeat purchases one click.
Draw first, pay after, it works like an actual drawing tool (drag to paint, pick colors, undo before you check out), not an abstract selection form.
Image import, upload a logo or shape and it auto-fills your selection pixel by pixel, so you don't need to hand-paint a logo dot by dot.
Nothing is permanent, that's the whole point. Your $50 logo can get vandalized in five minutes if someone else wants the spot badly enough. It's part of the game.
Built solo on Cloudflare Workers + D1, React canvas rendering, Stripe for payments. Would love your feedback, and if you paint something, come back in an hour and see if it's still there. 😄
