Pixanima is a free, browser-based pixel-art & animation studio — no install. Draw with layers, effects and palettes, animate on a frame timeline with onion-skin, and export to GIF, sprite sheets or PNG. What's different: a built-in AI assistant on the canvas — a text prompt generates sprites, seamless tiles and palettes, re-poses your character, or creates AI in-between frames for animation. The editor is 100% free; only AI uses prepaid credits, and new accounts get free credits.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm the solo dev behind Pixanima. I wanted a pixel-art tool that runs anywhere with no install, is actually built for animation (not just static sprites), and treats AI as a real assistant on the canvas — not a separate generator you copy-paste from.
So Pixanima lets you draw, layer and animate pixel art in the browser, then export GIFs / sprite sheets / PNG. The AI assistant turns a text prompt into sprites, seamless tiles and palettes, re-poses your character, and generates in-between frames for animation — all placed straight onto your canvas.
The editor is 100% free — nothing about drawing or animating is gated. The only paid part is AI, as prepaid credits, and new accounts get free credits to try it.
It's early and I'd genuinely love your feedback — especially on the AI features and what you'd want next. Thanks for checking it out! 💜
@artbessch A very promising product and a strong launch. Congratulations to the team! 🚀

@leon_ostrez Thank you, Leon! 🙏 Means a lot coming from the Pythagora team. Solo-built this one — free editor, AI features on credits. If you ever need sprites for a demo, it's all in the browser: pixanima.app

The AI in-betweening feature is genuinely clever, saves so much time on frame-by-frame work.

@alyssasamuzf Thank you — that one's my favourite too! Under the hood it's Google's FILM frame-interpolation model, so it generates the in-between frames from your two drawings rather than inventing a new character. Works best when the two keyframes are reasonably close in pose; big jumps still need a hand-drawn breakdown.
