The thing being trained is the gap between hearing a note and landing it on your instrument without hesitation. That gap is real, it's measurable (the app tracks your average time to detect), and it gets smaller with reps.

Hey PH - Shreyash here, solo dev on PitchStill. Built this because I play guitar and kept running into the same wall: I could find notes on the fretboard if I thought about it, but under any time pressure I was hunting. I wanted something that would drill the reflex - hear it, play it, scored - not another theory course. The technical part I'm most proud of: the pitch detection runs entirely in a native Swift/Kotlin module. Each audio buffer is processed using autocorrelation to extract the fundamental frequency, matched to the nearest note with a cents reading. The round-trip is fast enough that it feels like real-time feedback when you're playing. Happy to answer questions about the app, how it works, or anything about the technical build.
