Pinoccio is building cool wireless microcontrollers that talk to each other (via a radio mesh) and to a web API (via wifi) - they make it super easy to build "internet of things" projects with just a few lines of javascript.
@BlendahTom From talking to the Pinoccio team, it seems like the "smart facility" and other environmental monitoring use cases are most popular right now... the coolest examples I heard were people at Stanford Linear Accel Lab and SpaceX using them for facilities projects.
On a super small scale, I built a neat little wireless pomodoro timer for my desk. I'm doing a little writeup on it now, will be happy to share.
