I built PingCloud after spending way too long trying to justify cloud region decisions to stakeholders with nothing but vendor marketing and gut feel.
The core problem: latency from your office or AWS test instance tells you nothing about what your users actually experience. A region that's fast from San Francisco might be painful from Nairobi or São Paulo.
PingCloud solves this by running continuous measurements from real probe nodes distributed across global cities — not synthetic pings from data centers. The results are aggregated into rolling rankings so you can see trends, not just snapshots.
A few things I'm particularly proud of:
Multi-period aggregation (3/15/30 days) so you can distinguish stable patterns from temporary blips
The live test widget — you can run your own Ping or HTTP test from any city right in the browser, no account needed
