Hi Product Hunt, I’m Shu, the solo maker behind PillChime. My parents and I do not live in the same city, and I’m their only child. They are getting older, and both have chronic conditions. Every day, they need to take 3–4 medications at different times. I noticed they were still using the built-in phone alarm to manage medications. But when the alarm goes off, they often just stop it, and there is no record of whether the medication was actually taken. I downloaded and tested many medication reminder apps for them, but most were too complicated and not really designed for older adults. So I built PillChime: a medication reminder alarm for older adults, with both reminders and logging. What makes it different: 1. It is as simple as the built-in Clock app. Each medication alarm has an on/off switch. Turn it on, and it rings on time. Turn it off, and it stays silent. Anyone can use it. 2. It supports Dynamic Type. Text scales automatically with the iPhone’s system font size, which is essential for older adults with presbyopia. 3. It is powered by iOS 26 AlarmKit. This gives it alarm behavior much closer to the built-in Clock app, making reminders harder to miss. 4. It includes full tracking and statistics. You can manually log missed doses and review medication history by day, week, and month. In the future, I plan to add caregiver features, so even if I live in another city, I can know whether my parents took their medication on time. If they miss a dose, I can call them right away. That would give me much greater peace of mind.
