Phonophobia Pal: Supporting people who suffer anxiety or fear of loud noises

After the successful launch of the Sound School for Dogs App, which is a tool to desensitize dogs and puppies to loud loud noises such as fireworks and thunder, I was made aware that it's not only animals that suffer during these events, but also people. There are several conditions such as Phonophobia, Ligyrophobia, Misophonia and Hyperacusis which causes people anxiety, fear or pain during loud noises. Often the treatment recommended for these conditions is desensitization, which is to slowly build up the tolerance to a sound by starting at a low volume and increasing it over time. The Phonophobia Pal app has been designed with people in mind. It allows you to create a playlist or record your own sounds, set the volume and duration level, and begin your desensitization session. You can also track your progress over days, weeks and months.
