A fake shopping app you can actually use. Browse 100 products, fill a cart, check out with confetti, then track a courier who will never arrive. No signup, no card, no bill. The high of online shopping for exactly zero money.
I built a fake shopping app.
You browse, fill a cart, "check out" with confetti, watch a courier you will never meet, and spend exactly zero. 100 products, no card ever asked, no signup, no account. It runs entirely in your browser.
It started as a joke about the midnight carts I filled and never paid for. Then I noticed the dopamine hit lands the same whether the purchase is real or phake. So I built the whole loop: flash sales, fake cart-anxiety popups ("3 people are viewing this"), a haggle bot, a support chat that answers "where is my order?" with "in your imagination, shipping soon", and a Wrapped page that shows what you almost spent.
To be clear: Phaux is not a real store. Nothing ships. That is the point.
Curious what your fake haul looks like. Drop it in the comments.

This is genuinely funny and the courier never arriving detail is great. One thing I'd love to see is a "return" option, where after the courier fails to show up you can request a refund and the app pretends to process it for a few days before sending a cheerful "your refund is on its way" email. Would round out the whole fake shopping arc perfectly.
