petboard: Built to Earn the Wag

Hi Product Hunt, I am Sahil, and I built petboard. But before that, I started with the wrong shape. The first version was a marketplace for dog boarding in Bangalore, because that is the obvious idea: connect pet parents with places that will take their dog. The operators I spoke to were polite about it and then told me something else. They did not need more bookings. They needed to stop losing track of the ones they already had. One of them was running a few hundred clients and a whole sitter network out of WhatsApp threads and a paper diary. Nothing was wrong with the business but everything was wrong with the tooling. So I put the marketplace down and built the ops layer instead. What changed my approach was how much of this is specific to India, and how badly imported software handles it. GST is not a settings checkbox. It's the invoice, the credit note, the place of supply, the adjustment when a stay gets cut short. SMS is effectively closed to multi-tenant products here, so petboard does not send. It builds the queue and hands the operator a pre-filled WhatsApp message. No regulatory surface, no per-message cost, and the operator stays the sender. A medication log you can quietly edit is not a log. Undoing a dose voids the record, it does not erase it. A missed dose has to be able to exist as a fact. And cross-operator prefill never happens. If a pet parent books with 2 businesses, neither one sees the other's data. An operator told me that would be creepy, and he was right. It is live at petboard.in. I would rather hear what I have got wrong than what I have got right, so please be blunt.
