Pesto (f.k.a. Pragli) was one of my greatest finds in the COVID era as it helped my team who were scattered in one day and lost the feeling of "working together". It has its small bugs and quirks but generally speaking, it strikes a great balance between useful and fun, perfect for that "team" feeling. Congrats to the team for this great product, and hope the pricing lands within the feasible area for us.. =)

Hey Product Hunt, I’m Doug, co-founder and CEO at Pesto. Vivek and I started working on Pesto (at the time, called Pragli) pre-COVID because we were tired of the communication friction and loneliness of remote work. At the time, we wanted to build a small bootstrapped business... because remote work was a niche! As you may imagine, things have gone way faster than we expected. Over 10,000 teams have signed up for Pesto and we just announced our $5M seed round. Our users logged an estimated 100,000,000 audio/video minutes in 2021. So.. what is it? Pesto is a digital workplace where teams get work done, hangout, play games, and generally live their work lives. The workplace consists of rooms, customizable spaces for different types of activities. For instance, you may setup a room where you meet like you would in Zoom... or one where you walk around on a map, quietly vibe out to Lofi music, or even play games like trivia. Rooms are reflected in the left bar and are lightning quick to hop between. In this workplace, your avatar can be a significantly less fatiguing version of video. You can still turn on video if you want, and rooms support 4k screen share with screen drawing. We (still!) haven’t released pricing, but we plan to launch a paid tier in a few months and will give all PH users a 10% discount once we do (save the code PH10). The Pesto team and product has allowed us to build an incredible team across many diverse geographies. We continue to use slack less and less, as we do more, in real time, faster. Highly recommend.

Pesto is fantastically unique and a joy to have as a part of your daily flow. If you are thinking, "Well, is it better than...?" you should know that it supplants multiple products that companies typically cobble together that on the whole fail to fully address the obstacles of remote work. Pesto provides a natural, intuitive way to work day-to-day with a team whose members can be anywhere. The concept was solid at launch two years ago, and the velocity of the product team since then has been impressive. I'll echo my comments here on the original product from two years ago, as they remain relevant: "I have been working mostly remote for years, relying on Slack and other tools to enable communication and collaboration. [Pesto] has been a breath of fresh air. If you are unsure about what difference "another app" can make, check out the thoughful posts on the [Pesto] blog. Then start using [Pesto]. You'll see that it immediately delivers on the promise of allowing your team to work in a more natural flow and addresses issues with asychronous communication, loneliness and availability messaging that you may not have realized are plaguing your team."

I started using Pesto back when it was still Pragli and it's such a fun way to feel connected to coworkers in a remote world. I actually stopped using it for a bit when my team went in person but recently relaunched the app and have loved all the new product features! It's super cool to see how far it's come since 2 years ago.

My team has been using Pesto since it first launched 2 years ago as "Pragli". We took a brief hiatus and tried a new platform briefly, but found ourselves coming back to Pesto with open arms. The ability to collaborate purely with audio is amazing, and Pesto has helped our entire team stay comfortable and connected. Looking forward to what is in store for Pesto in the future.
