PeakAtlas3D — explore the world's mountain peaks on a Mapbox globe, then open a 3D terrain profile for each summit. PeakAtlas3D combines a responsive Mapbox globe with high-fidelity, interactive 3D terrain profiles for global summits. Perfect for hikers, mountaineers, and geography geeks.

A 3D terrain profile is such a cool idea for visualizing climbs. One thing that would really help me as a user is being able to overlay a planned route on the terrain and see the elevation gain along it, instead of just the peak profile. Maybe let users import a GPX file or click two points on the map to draw one.
@neriman91088467 ya I'm currently working on adding popular trails, and im trying out how users can add there own overlays
The way you pair the spinning Mapbox globe with a detailed 3D terrain card on tap is really thoughtful, it keeps the exploration fluid without overwhelming the screen. Nice execution for hikers who actually want to study a route before lacing up.
@glhanuieg thanks for checking it out
Love how the peak page keeps that same Mapbox camera angle when you drop into the 3D profile, it really sells the transition from orbit to summit. Big fan of the silhouette shading too.
@furkanankalanw thanks the camera angles can get tricky.
The way you tied Mapbox's globe to per-summit 3D terrain profiles feels really well considered. It saves you from bouncing between apps when scoping a route.
@yunusbhm thanks, rending between frames was annoying but I figured a workaround for the transition cut
