Hey Product Hunt 👋,

I'm launching PDF Vector today - document-processing APIs that handle PDFs, Word, Excel, and images reliably at any scale.

The Problem: Most document APIs fail on real documents. They crash on large and complex files, can't parse document links from Google Drive, Dropbox, or academic publishers. They're also not optimized for no-code platforms, making integration difficult. We tried many APIs while building our other products and kept hitting these limitations.

What PDF Vector does:
• Process any document format - PDF, Word, Excel, images

• Handle files that other APIs can't - 500+ page documents, complex tables & layouts, handwritten images
• Parse documents directly from URLs including Google Drive, Dropbox, and academic sites
• Convert any document to clean Markdown text
• Ask questions about your documents and get accurate answers
• Extract structured data from your documents with strict JSON schemas
• Search and retrieve details from millions of academic papers
• Native integrations with Zapier, Make, n8n, and other no-code platforms

Why we're different:
- One API for all document types & URLs - no need for multiple services & custom parsers
- Document-processing API that scale - handle complex documents that crash other APIs

- AI-powered OCR included - work with handwritten images, complex tables, & multi-column layouts
- Academic database API included - search and fetch details from millions of papers
- Battle-tested in AI apps and automation workflows processing thousands of very large & complex documents

- Optimized for no-code platforms - not just an afterthought

- Start free, scale as needed (free tier included, paid plans from $15/month)

Common use cases:
- Building RAG pipelines for AI applications
- Converting any document to clean Markdown for LLMs
- Asking questions about contracts, reports, and research papers
- Extracting structured data from invoices, Excel sheets, and financial documents
- Creating document workflows in no-code platforms
- Searching and analyzing academic literature

We built PDF Vector because existing solutions only solved parts of the problem and kept failing on complex documents. We needed one reliable API that could handle any document, answer questions about it, extract structured data, and integrate easily with our other products and no-code workflows.

That's very cool, checking it out now.
But doesn't the ChatGPT agent builder maintain it out of the box right now?

Minh-Phuc Tran

@victor_metelskiy Not sure I understand what you mean, but OpenAI agent builder doesn't accept 3rd connectors right now, they only allow connecting through custom MCP servers. If you mean PDF capabilities, ChatGPT is still failing at very large / complex PDFs.

Paul Anthony Williams

I really like the positioning here: it's easy to get a one-pager working in ChatGPT for a quick demo, but it's verrrrryyy hard to make it work reliably at scale whilst handling all the thousand edge cases.

Congrats on the launch!

Looks cool — really like the practical use case and simple API approach. Definitely useful for AI workflows.

Budi Voogt

Congrats Minh. Going to explore this API soon.
