Most "free" PDF tools push you to sign up, add watermarks, or cap you at 2 conversions per day. PDF-Vert doesn't. 9 tools, all genuinely free with no signup: PDF↔Word, PDF↔JPG, merge, compress, split, rotate, text extract. No watermarks, no caps. Files auto-deleted after 2 hours. Available in 9 languages. Privacy-first — no tracking cookies until you consent. All processing on our own servers. For people who just want to convert a PDF without friction.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built PDF-Vert because every "free" PDF tool either pushed me to sign up,
added watermarks, or capped me at 2 conversions per day.
Last year I had a deadline and needed to convert ~10 PDFs. Smallpdf hit me
with a daily limit. iLovePDF added watermarks. PDF2Go wanted my email. None
of them said any of this until I'd already uploaded.
So I built what I wished existed:
→ 9 PDF tools (convert, merge, compress, split, rotate, extract text)
→ No signup, ever
→ No watermarks on output
→ No daily caps
→ Files auto-deleted after 2 hours — privacy by default, not by request
→ Available in 9 languages
It's been a ~6-month side project. The hard part wasn't the PDF processing —
those libraries exist. The hard part was making the whole flow feel honest:
upfront limits on the upload box, cookie consent that defaults to "no
tracking," i18n that routes a Japanese user to /ja/ automatically.
Still adding tools — OCR, optional watermarking, form filling are next.
Genuinely curious what tools matter most to you. The roadmap is wide open
and I'd rather build what's needed than what I guess is needed.
Find a bug or want a tool we don't have? Just yell — I read every comment. 🙏
(pdf-vert.com stays free for core tools forever. Eventual Pro plan is for
power users with bigger files / batch processing.)

How are you covering server costs with no signup, ads, or apparent pricing page, is this a passion project or are paid plans coming later?

@grkem154790 Fair question! It runs on a small VPS I already operate, and all processing uses open-source tools (LibreOffice, Ghostscript, Poppler) on my own server — no third-party APIs — so marginal costs are low. It's a passion project for now. If usage grows: small unobtrusive ads first, and later an optional Pro tier (bigger files, no ads). The core 9 tools stay free either way.

Compressed a bloated 40mb pdf down to under 5 in like 20 seconds, no signup nags, file was gone when I checked back later. exactly what these tools should be.

@guneshaska78891 Thanks, glad it worked for you! One small clarification for anyone reading: the free tier currently caps uploads at 25 MB per file (5 tasks per tool per day) — plenty for everyday documents. And yes, every file is permanently wiped within 2 hours, that part is non-negotiable. 🙂
