Pause blocks distracting apps and websites on iPhone. Choose from five blocking modes, then turn off unlocks so there are no breaks or early exits. Strict Mode locks your settings until the session ends. Free, no account, no ads, data stays on your device.

Hi Product Hunt.
I built Pause because every app blocker I tried had an escape hatch. Apple's Screen Time literally offers "Ignore Limit for Today" the moment you hit your limit. Most third-party blockers ship a pause or snooze button. At 11 am that's fine. At 11 pm it costs nothing to tap. So Pause has no in-app pause button. You decide before a session
starts whether unlocks are allowed, and with them off there are no breaks and no early exits. Strict Mode locks your session settings and app list until it ends. Friction Lock makes you solve maths problems or
type a long password before access returns. Five blocking modes: session, schedule, daily time limit, open limit,
and friction lock. It blocks websites alongside apps, because blocking the Instagram app while instagram.com loads in Safari does nothing. Free, no account, no ads. Your block lists stay on your device. Honest limitations: iPhone only so that it won't help with laptop distraction. Barely any analytics, so if you want the dashboard
experience, Opal does that far better. And like every iOS blocker, it runs on Apple's Screen Time framework, which means nothing here can override the operating system itself. The goal is exiting cost
more than the scroll is worth, not pretending it's impossible. I'd really like feedback on Friction Lock specifically. Does a maths challenge genuinely break the automatic reach, or does it become a ritual you do without thinking after two weeks? That's the thing I'm least sure about.
