Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Manthan, the maker of Patra - and I’m so excited to finally share what we’ve been building 🛠️
We built Patra because we were tired of discussing work in Slack and then… stopping everything to file a Jira ticket 😩. The flow was always broken: copying stuff, opening Jira, picking the board, assigning people — all while context slips away.
So we asked:
What if I could do all this with the help of an assistant?
That’s what Patra does.
Just mention Patra and type what you’d normally say:
No commands. No Jira UI. No switching tabs.
But it’s more than ticket creation:
🧵 Create tickets from threads
📊 Ask for analytics — “How many tickets did I file last month?”
📍Track status, link issues, and assign with mentions — naturally.
✨ All without storing any data — everything is processed in real time
💸 Free 30-day trial with 1000 credits, no credit card required
🧩 And we’re actively working on GitHub, Confluence, Asana, and more integrations
If your team lives in Slack and ships through Jira, Patra can seriously reduce the friction. I’d love your thoughts, feedback, and ideas 🙌
Thanks for checking it out — means a lot!

Will this work across multiple Jira projects at the same time or do users need to set a default project first?
Bhava
@liam_ward2 Will work across jira projects, you can specify the project key in the message itself!
This really addresses a major headache for teams juggling Slack and Jira. How does it deal with ambiguity in natural language? For instance if I say “create a bug for login failure, does it automatically classify that?
Bhava
@henry98 The prompt internally processes it like how a human reading the same message would, incase there is a ambiguity patra asks for clarification, confirming what you intended to do! Glad you find it useful!
What permissions does the Slack bot require? Does it need full Jira admin access or can it function with limited user scopes?
Bhava
@john_john38 Can work with limited user scopes, the bot has scoped access on the user token level.
We tried something similar internally but it still needed too much rigid formatting. Yours seems much more adaptable. One feature I’d love to see is improved support for ticket linking (like parent-child tasks).
Bhava
@lily_jhon It actually should be able to already do it :D! Why don't you give it a try? it works with both EPIC, child tickets and subtasks! also, you need not always specify the issue type, patra figures it out all by itself ;)
Using Patra at work! I like the simplicity and avoids the to and fro to jira!

This is how Jira should seamlessly integrate with Slack it's super smooth!
