Hi, I'm Janne, the founder of Pathmode. A coding agent proposes that cancelling a plan ends access immediately. The product manager knows customers have already paid for the month. She isn't the one running the agent, so she usually finds out after it's built. Pathmode puts the agent's proposal in front of her first. The spec lives in the repository as intent.md. She reviews it in the browser, asks to keep access until the paid period ends, and approves the revised version. The agent builds that version, and the pull request is checked against her decision. A later coding session that touches cancellations can find the decision and its reason. We launched here in April as a way to turn user evidence into specs. This is the job the product does now. We rebuilt Pathmode from scratch in 2 months — here's why

We launched Pathmode in December as a journey mapping tool. The idea was simple: map your user's journey, find the friction, fix it.

Within weeks of real usage, we saw the problem. Teams would build beautiful journey maps, then... nothing. The maps lived in slides. The insights never made it to the engineers. And when AI coding agents entered the workflow, the gap got worse agents need structured specs, not diagrams.

So we scrapped it. Rebuilt the entire product around one question: what if the output of product discovery was something an AI agent could actually execute?
