After five years abroad, I returned to Brazil and eagerly searched for GuiaBolso, my go-to budgeting app, only to find it had been sunsetted after being acquired. Faced with the daunting task of manually reconciling my accounts for 90 minutes each month, I knew there had to be a better way—especially in this age of AI and Open Finance. Determined to find a solution, I realized that while connecting to the Open Finance API would take some time (coming soon!), I could leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to tackle the problem immediately. That's how Parsa was born. By utilizing LLMs to parse spreadsheets and images of bank statements, we created a tool that automates the tedious process of tracking and analyzing expenses. Accuracy was a top priority. With POS data often being inaccurate by over 50%, we developed a classification engine with an impressive 99% precision rate for card purchases and bill payments. But Parsa is just the beginning. We aim to expand beyond budgeting to offer a comprehensive platform that provides enterprise-level insights into Personal Finance Management, Financial Education, and tailored Financial Products designed for financial security and wealth creation.
