I’m Max, founder of Parlo. I built Parlo because sharing online has become so performative. Everyone edits themselves for an audience. What if you removed the audience, until after you’ve been honest? Every day, Parlo gives everyone the same question. You record your answer (either voice or text) and only after that can you see how your friends responded. It’s a hybrid of journaling + social reflection. Everything you record is private by default, encrypted, and yours. But you can choose to share certain reflections on your friends-only feed or publicly on Parlo’s community feed. Behind the scenes, AI helps summarize your entries and surface weekly insights like: “Your week in words: nostalgia, change, gratitude.” Parlo isn’t about engagement metrics or the superficiality of traditional social media.
