ParentMate - the AI parenting assistant that grows with your child. More than a chatbot: ParentMate combines a living child profile, psychology-based coaching, a behavioural journal, and daily age-matched activities anchored to CDC and AAP milestones. Log a moment in seconds, and ParentMate turns it into insight - spotting patterns, celebrating milestones, and suggesting what to try next. Get guidance tailored to your child. Built for parents who want to see progress, not just get answers.
I'm the maker of ParentMate, and I'm excited to finally share it with you.
What we're trying to solve: Parenting advice is everywhere - books, forums, generic apps ... but almost none of it knows your child. Parents are drowning in one-size-fits-all tips while the moments that actually matter (a tantrum pattern, a new word, a sleep regression) slip by unrecorded and unexamined. We wanted to close that gap: capture real parenting moments in seconds and turn them into personalized, psychology-based guidance that grows with your child.
What building this taught us: Our biggest lesson was that advice alone doesn't stick - habits do. Early versions were essentially a smart Q&A coach, and people loved the answers but didn't come back. So we rebuilt ParentMate around the behavioural Journal: quick entries that feed a living child profile, so every answer gets more relevant over time. We also learned to be humble about AI's limits - entries save even if AI enrichment fails, and sensitive topics route to real professional help, not a chatbot.
How it evolved: From a simple parenting chatbot to a coach with structured child profiles to today's version: Journal, milestone-anchored daily activities for ages 0–16, and coaching that references what your child actually did last week. Native iOS with on-device voice journaling is coming this fall so stay tuned.
I'd love your feedback especially from fellow parents. What would make you actually keep a parenting journal?
