Parcourse turns a YouTube video into a course you can actually study: structured sections, questions that test your thinking, and a knowledge graph that grows with you. It's self-hosted, and uses whichever model you bring.
Prosaic
I have always used the internet to learn and some of the best content for learning is on YouTube where extremely dedicated creators teach people a plethora of topics with an extreme sense of ownership and quality. I bow to them. I have learned more from this platform than any MOOC I have purchased. But while there is learning, there is also the passive watching of content and feeling like you're learning something while you don't retain the ideas after a few hours. I got to thinking and built Parcourse.

Parcourse has a lot of features and I have been using them to learn everyday but some highlights include:
A quiz that tests whether you followed the argument, not whether you remember a word. Every section has a quiz and also asks you to write answers so it is not just MCQ and go.
A cheatsheet for every course is generated as well so you can always revise or even take it with you with a printout.
A knowledge graph that grows with every topic you learn and shows you that you are a sum of the many fields you dabble in. It is also built so it can connect related concepts across domains!
A markdown notepad that is always available while watching a video so you can take notes that are beyond the cheatsheet and in your own style.
Regenerate courses with your feedback so you can tailor the course how you like to study. It's build-a-bear but for your own MOOC.
Multi-user where an admin can look at other student's knowledge graphs (great for teachers, parents and managers) and see what they are learning. Students can also bring their own model so they are not bound to what the admin decides for them.
Chrome Extension (local for now, Web Store already in review) to easily start generation from YouTube to Parcourse.
Responsive and fully usable on mobile so you can learn on the go!

It is bring-your-own-key and supports anything LiteLLM supports. It has extensive documentation and some gotchas. But most of all, it is backed by the Dimwit Pledge which is that I will always use what I build and it will always be treated with attention. There is a hosted sevice on the horizon and you can sign up on the homepage for it today.
A quick note: Parcourse does not mirror or host the videos and the viewer in the app is YouTube's embedded player. This is to ensure that the creators' content always remains their own and Parcourse does not claim or pretend anything beyond what it creates: a tailor-made, bite-sized course personalised to you and your path of learning.
