Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m [Luke], the maker of Paraphraser AI.
I built it around a problem that looks simple but is surprisingly difficult: changing the wording of a piece of text without quietly changing what it means.
Many rewriting tools can produce polished text, but the result may drop a qualifier, remove an important term, change the tone, or make every sentence sound generic. I wanted to make the process more controllable and easier to review.
With Paraphraser AI, you can:
• Choose between Standard, Natural, Formal, Academic, SEO, and Humanize modes
• Adjust the rewrite strength from light edits to substantial restructuring
• Protect product names, technical terms, and target keywords
• Generate multiple versions and compare them with the original text
• Try the core rewriting flow without creating an account
It is designed for non-native English speakers, students, writers, marketers, and anyone who wants clearer wording without losing the original point.
I also wanted to be careful about how the product is positioned. Paraphraser AI is a writing and editing assistant, not a plagiarism or AI-detection bypass tool. Rewritten text still needs human review, and ideas from outside sources still need proper citations.
The product is built with Astro and React, runs on Cloudflare Workers, and uses Cloudflare Workers AI with an OpenAI-compatible fallback. One of the hardest ongoing problems is detecting semantic drift—especially when a rewrite changes numbers, negation, uncertainty, or important qualifiers while remaining fluent.
The free plan includes 500 words per day, and the core flow works without signing up. Paid plans add larger quotas, SEO mode, history, and project organization.
I’d really value your feedback on three things:
1. Does the output preserve the meaning of your real examples?
2. Are the rewrite controls useful, or are there too many options?
3. What would make this meaningfully different from the writing tools you already use?
Thanks for checking it out. I’ll be here throughout the launch to answer questions and learn from your feedback.

It would be really helpful to have a built-in plagiarism checker so I can see if the rewritten text is unique enough before using it. Right now I have to copy everything over to a separate site, which breaks my flow. Bonus if it could highlight the changed words inline.

A "tone preset" for different audiences would be a great add, like formal for cover letters, conversational for blogs, and academic for essays. Right now I find myself tweaking the rewrite strength over and over to hit the right vibe, and saving a few one-click tones would speed that up a lot.

Rewriting a clunky email intro took seconds and the side by side comparison actually helped me pick the best tone instead of guessing. Wish the word protection feature let you lock in phrases a bit more reliably though.

the side by side comparison is genuinely useful, way better than just hitting one button and hoping for the best

the side by side output comparison is a really thoughtful touch, makes it way easier to pick the best rewrite without going back and forth.
