What's great

I love Pangea for multiple reasons. It lets me keep track of every place I've visited without worrying about pin limits or paying for extra features, which was something I always ran into with other apps. What really makes it standout is the social aspect. I love being able to see where my friends are traveling, follow along with their trips, and even make spontaneous plans when our travels overlap. It's made staying connected so much more fun. I recommend to anyone who loves to travel.

What needs improvement

It's impressive how much Pangea has improved since I first started using it. It's come a long way, and it's been fun watching new features and updates make the app even better over time. I'd love to see even more trip-planning features, like collaborative itineraries or shared travel checklists for groups. I think those would make planning trips with friends even easier while building on what the app already does so well.

vs Alternatives

Before Matt told me about Pangea, I used a map pinning app to keep track of the places I'd been. It was useful for logging my travels, but that's really all it did. There wasn't any way to connect with friends or share experiences, and the free version capped you at 50 pins unless you paid for a subscription. Once I hit that limit, I stopped using it.

What's great

One of my favorite features is the map that lets me track where I've been, see where my friends have traveled, and quickly figure out who to ask for recommendations. Since college, my friends have spread out across the country, and I travel frequently for work. Pangea makes it easy to see who I know in whatever city I'm visiting. Instead of spending an evening alone in a hotel, I've been able to reconnect with old friends, which has made work travel much more enjoyable. I recommend it to anyone I know who travels often or has friends spread across different cities and countries.

What needs improvement

The main improvements I'd like to see would focus on group trip planning to help move me out of tracking group details in spreadsheets.

vs Alternatives

Before using Pangea, I tracked the places I'd visited in spreadsheets, relied on memory to remember where friends lived, and used other apps for recommendations. Pangea brings all of that together in one place by combining travel tracking with my personal network. I trust recommendations from people I know far more than generic online reviews, and Pangea makes it much easier to reconnect with friends or plan a meetup whenever I'm traveling.

What's great

I’ve been using Pangea since its early days and it has only gotten better with the constant updates being rolled out. I mainly use it to track my trips and save my recommendations for different cities, but I can also see how easy it would be to collaborate with others to plan trips all inside the app. The features that help you connect with friends who might be coincidentally in the same area as you is also a unique golden feature that I think people will like. As time goes on and travel becomes even more accessible, I think Pangea will be in great position as the best social-travel app!

What needs improvement

I think if users could add some form of content to highlight their traveling, it could introduce more engagement opportunities. The tricky part would be figuring out how to make the content unique and not just like any of the big social platforms.

vs Alternatives

When Matt Gray first told me about Pangea, it was the first I had heard of such a platform, so I did not have many other apps to compare it to. That uniqueness is what makes it special and keeps me on it versus the other competitors I now know of.

What's great

It allows me to track where I have been, get recommendations on places I am going and be able to connect with friends that have traveled to the areas i'm going or people who will be there at the same time! I love being able to see where my friends are going to try to meet up with them even just for a meal!

What needs improvement

Recommendations of events going on at places I am traveling to (ie concerts/meetups etc)

Before using Pangea I was only able to track where I have been through an app called "been" there was no social aspect and I wasn't able to connect with others who have traveled to places I was planning on going.

What's great

I love keeping up with where my friends are going to be while I plan my future travel. It’s also great to easily check how long we will overlap for and make sure we don’t miss out on connecting in person.

What needs improvement

I would love to see a way for users to propose meetups within the app.

vs Alternatives

When I first met Matt Gray, I really pushed back on why I should get another travel social app and what would make this one different. I was already using three other platforms with only a handful of friends on each, and didn’t want to keep updating yet another. Fast forward to Pangea acquiring two of those, and the majority of my network using Pangea regularly. It has the consistent improvements, growth, and critical mass that all the other platforms were lacking.

What's great

As someone who travels full-time, I love being able to see where my friends are headed and when our plans might overlap. Pangea makes a life spread across the world feel a little more connected.

What needs improvement

I’d love more ways to discover local meetups and connect with people who share my interests.

What's great

Pangea is the perfect travel app for building out travel plans, coordinating with other travelers, collaborating with recommendations, and finding great events all over the world. It helps me keep in touch with travelers I meet along the way.

What needs improvement

I’d love to see events in your area easier to find.

What's great

I’ve really seeing the creation and using the Pangea app. It’s easy to navigate, well-designed, and has made it easier to plan parts of my trips and has helped keep me organized. I like having everything in one place, and seeing all the fun trips and places my friends/community are experiencing (and helps when I’m planning a trip their myself).

It feels thoughtfully built and is a great option for anyone who travels regularly or just wants an easier way to plan a trip. Definitely worth checking out.
