Hi Product Hunt community!
I’m Paweł, a software developer and frontend architect with 20 years of experience building real-time systems.
Window management on macOS often felt too heavy to me, asked for invasive permissions, or overcomplicated what should be a quick action. I wanted a tool that feels native, fast and stays out of the way.
That’s why I built Panebird:
Snap windows into halves, thirds and corners with clean keyboard shortcuts or a drag to the screen edge.
Cycle through sizes by pressing the same shortcut again (half, then two thirds, then one third).
Lightweight and private: no account, no analytics, nothing sent to the internet.
On the Mac App Store, fully sandboxed: Panebird works out where a window goes and the built-in Shortcuts app moves it.
Snapping is free. Pro is a one-time $1.99, no subscription: custom positions, saved layouts that can open your apps, window position at launch, and a todo mode that keeps a list or chat as a strip at the side.
What’s next: we’re already testing Nests, the apps for one task arranged your way. Switch to a nest and everything else hides.
I’d love your feedback: how do the shortcut cycles feel in your daily workflow, and what would make your multi-monitor setup easier to manage?
Thank you for checking it out!
